Echo Bluff State Park in Missouri is a new, modern, and welcoming park and really worth the visit in south-central Missouri! Situated on a small creek that empties into the Current River, this park has many new amenities and lots of access to this small creek. It’d be a great summertime spot for swimming and playing! Camping at Echo Bluff
I stayed in the RV campground called Timbuktu. It’s a modern and new campground with lots of concrete and modern bathrooms. It was busy when I was there in April and there was lots of traffic in and out!
The Timbuktu campground is located near the creek that runs through the park. It was an easy walk down the hill to go find a spot in the sand next to the water. Several people were always going back and forth and enjoying the water! It’s also just a short walk to go to the lodge which is about half a mile away. You really can have modern American camping at Timbuktu!
Trekking at Echo Bluffs
There are several trails at the park and there are several areas available for swimming. This is a great spring and summertime park due to ample fun things to do! I didn’t make it to any trails while I was there but please see the park map for hiking areas!

Bathrooms
The bathroom building at the Timbuktu campground was well kept and taken care of. The campground is only a few years old and everything looks good still!
Campsites
Timbuktu campground has all the modern amenities of a recently built park. It has several different types of hookup options for your RV or truck camper.
Activities
There are several activities at the park. Swimming, hiking, biking, and event center are all located in the park so you’ll be sure to have something if you visit this park!
Location
This park is located in south-central Missouri and very near the Current River Scenic Byway area. You have access to several float operations nearby and several national and state forests to explore around the area.
AT&T Cell Service at Timbuktu Campground
There was no cell service but there was lodge and campground WiFi.
Conclusion
Echo Bluff State Park is a wonderful state park located in a gorgeous part of the state! The forest and creek are a wonderful summer respite and very quaint. There are modern amenities and everything seems well taken care of. It should be on your summertime visit list this year!
