How to get to Frankenstein (Pfalz) Castle
The Frankenstein castle is a ruined castle near the town of of the same name! It’s an easy hike and there are several other trails all around the area! The parking was easy and there is a small lot to park at here. There is a small cafe next to the parking area so if you need a beer when you’re done I’m sure they got you! I parked along the street during my visit and that was easy too.

The hike up to the castle was steep but it’s only a few hundred meters of walking. There’s also plenty of exploring in the castle as you can see plenty of stone walls and walk all the way to the top spire! Plenty of views from up there! You can also enter into the forest from the castle area too to explore into the forest and continue up the hill.

It’s an easy 20 minute drive or train ride from Kaiserslautern. The train stops right in the town and it’s a short walk to the trailhead. The train even has a tunnel that goes under the castle hill. This is an easy day trip and fun for the whole family! Happy trekking!
