I was in the Vosges Mountains in France and discovered the source of the Moselle River! It’s an understated memorial park in the mountains. It has a stone column and a small stone fountain to catch the water spilling out of the side of the hill. The spring and a channel which you can jump over will grow into one of the region’s most important rivers!
The area is gorgeous! The spring is in a small mountain range called the Vosges in eastern France. This area is up in the mountains. It is surrounded by a winter wonderland during the winter but is also known for its summer hiking and adventuring. There is a bench and grass all around so you can enjoy the weather in spring or summer. I love visiting these spots because they mean a lot to the entire wine industry and show how something so small can grow to be a huge river! Happy trekking!
